Observations from the bus

Today I took four busses to get to work.
Usually I commute with my boss, which is great because we always stop for coffee and it only takes 30 minutes instead of 150 minutes to get to work. However, when I have a chance to take the bus I like to slow down and notice things.

: bus driver with a soft voice and charming southern accent
: woman sitting in front of me wearing silver heart earrings
: the smell of grape bubblegum
: a beautiful four-story brick office building...completely empty
: a long line of cars and trucks at a Starbucks drive-thru
: a tube of carmex lip balm abandoned in the grass
: an apple...mostly eaten & discarded beside railroad tracks
: birds chirping cheerfully at the transit center
: a wishing well in front of a nondescript house
: bus driver with huge chocolate brown eyes
: teens chattering in the back of the bus
: teen boy singing the alphabet song
: bus just making it through a busy intersection as the light turned red
: a volleyball laying in the middle of a beautifully manicured lawn
: a man breaking down cardboard boxes outside the Embassy Suites
: a wooden fence painted a bright bright green
